About
The original series, The Bionic Woman, aired as a television series in 1976 on ABC. It was relaunched again in 1977 on NBC, and again on NBC in 2007.
The storyline of the original series revolved around Jaime Sommers (portrayed by ‎Lindsay Wagner), a tennis professional who almost died in a sky diving accident, and was rebuilt by the same scientist (Dr. Rudy Wells) who rebuilt Steve Austin (The Six Million Dollar Man) upon his request. As the result of the bionic implants used in rebuilding her, Jaime gained amplified hearing, a much stronger right arm, and super-fast legs. Jaime joined the secret organization Steve worked for, the OSI. Steve was a recurring character on the show, and they shared the same boss, Oscar Goldman (portrayed by Richard Anderson).

Pilot
Like in the original version of the series, Jaime Sommers is not the first person to be fitted with bionic devices. However, in this series, that first person is a woman and she does not appear to be a friend. Also, Jaime's initial career has been changed to bartender / college student. Like in the original version, Jaime is refitted after an accident, but this time it is a car (not a sky diving) accident.
